An EI transformer lamination quotation requires enough information to review material, geometry, tooling, delivery format, inspection and volume. A drawing or controlled sample should remain the primary reference.
Start with a controlled drawing or sample
Provide the E and I profiles, overall dimensions, centre-leg and outer-leg widths, window size, hole positions and any orientation requirements. Identify the drawing revision so sample and production records refer to the same geometry.
Define electrical steel and thickness
State the requested electrical-steel grade, nominal thickness and coating or surface requirement when specified. If the material is not fixed, provide the application and relevant performance targets for review.
Confirm the delivery format
Define whether the project requires loose E and I pieces, matched lamination sets, counted packs or assembled core stacks. For assemblies, identify stack height, fastening method, orientation and alignment requirements.
Identify inspection and documentation needs
Typical project controls may include profile dimensions, hole position, burr, flatness, material identification, set count, stack height, appearance and packing.
EI lamination RFQ checklist
- Drawing or controlled sample and revision
- Electrical-steel grade and nominal thickness
- Critical dimensions, tolerances and hole positions
- Loose pieces, matched sets or assembled-stack format
- Estimated prototype and repeat quantities
- Inspection records, packing and destination
Use a sample approval gate
After feasibility and tooling review, agree the sample quantity, measurement plan, approval responsibility and conditions for repeat production.
